Required Qualifications
- 2 years of Surgical Tech experience
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS certification
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist)
Job Summary
- Assists the surgical team during the intra-operative period
- Focuses on preparation and handling of instrumentation and surgical equipment
- Supports patient care across the lifespan, from neonate through geriatric
- Must be able to respond to urgent or emergency situations
- Requires knowledge of medical terminology, the metric system, and aseptic technique
Key Responsibilities
- Uses aseptic technique during surgical duties
- Prepares, handles, and maintains surgical instrumentation
- Performs sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure
- Follows professional standards of practice
