Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Position

Location: San Diego, California
Employment Type: Travel - Clinical Allied Health
Shift: 12-hour night shift
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Plans and administers respiratory care functions including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic care for patients. Provides quality care within the scope of respiratory practice, collaborates with the healthcare team, and manages documentation and resources effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver quality respiratory care following departmental guidelines and patient-driven protocols.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and universal precautions.
• Assess and address patient safety, cultural, psychosocial, and physical needs.
• Communicate patient status and changes to the healthcare team; participate in patient care rounds as requested.
• Document care accurately and timely using computer systems, including charge/credit entry.
• Manage time and resources efficiently, adapt to changing workloads, and complete assignments promptly.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist license in California
• Minimum 3 years of recent respiratory therapist experience, including experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

Additional Information

• Experience working in a 95-bed Level III NICU with approximately 600 deliveries per month.
• Strong skills in patient assessment, therapeutic care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, documentation, and resource management.

Note: Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
