Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery / Mother Baby

Job Summary

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby, you will be responsible for providing safe, effective, patient- and family-centered care. You will assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care, focusing on patient comfort, education, and satisfaction. The role includes supervising licensed and non-licensed staff, mentoring/precepting, and participating in quality and safety improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and reassessments, making sound independent decisions.
• Develop, prioritize, and implement plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Monitor and document patient responses to clinical interventions.
• Provide and evaluate education tailored to patient and family needs during stay and at discharge.
• Delegate tasks and mentor staff, fostering teamwork and communication.
• Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement efforts.
• Promote a safe, clean, and secure environment.
• Recognize and prioritize complex patient care needs, including psychosocial and discharge planning.
• Address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning.
• Stay informed on relevant research and evidence-based practices.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience, including 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
• Post Partum experience
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced
  • STABLE
• Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Ability and willingness to work in both Labor & Delivery and Mother/Baby units
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Education Requirements

• Nursing Diploma OR Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ASN).
