Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Travel Assignment

Location: Seguin, Texas
Setting: Hospital (Acute Inpatient & Outpatient)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days
Hours: 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week
Schedule: Monday-Friday or Tuesday-Saturday rotation, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Description

• Provide occupational therapy services in both acute inpatient and outpatient hospital settings.
• Inpatient caseload: 12-14 evaluations per day; surgical patients treated twice daily.
• Outpatient caseload: 8-12 patients per day; therapists must schedule all outpatient appointments according to the patient’s treatment plan (e.g., 12 sessions).
• Use MediTech Magic 4.0 electronic health record system (upgrading to MediTech Expanse possible).
• Pharmacy support is limited: pharmacy closes at 7 PM on weekdays and reopens at 7 AM; pharmacist on-call as needed; weekend pharmacy tech coverage during the day with pharmacist on-call.
• Orientation includes a brief HR session on day one and 1-3 days of departmental training depending on experience.
• Dress code: Business casual for both inpatient and outpatient; white lab coat required in inpatient acute; casual jeans allowed on Fridays (no holes).

Required Qualifications

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Minimum 1 year of actual work experience as an OT Assistant (clinicals do not count).
• Experience required in both acute inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Comfortable working in both inpatient and outpatient areas.
• Supervisor references must cover both inpatient and outpatient experience.
