Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Location: Osage Beach, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (3-12 hour shifts, 7pm-7am), some weekends
Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Description

Seeking a Med Surg Registered Nurse for a travel contract. The unit has 39 beds (24 Med Surg/telemetry beds) with patient ratios of approximately 1:6. The patient population is primarily non-acute cardiac cases (e.g., pacemakers, monitoring, potassium levels). Telemetry experience is a plus but not required.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg nursing experience
• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications required

  • ACLS and NIHSS can be obtained during the placement process if not currently held
• Experience with Meditech charting system is highly preferred
• Experience with McKesson medication system preferred

Additional Information

• Nurses must have their own housing; affordable housing can be difficult to find, especially in summer
• Float assignments primarily to Med Surg units within the nurse’s scope of practice
• Scrub color: Royal blue (not provided)
• Occasional shift call-offs may occur (approximately 1 shift off per 4 weeks worked, rarely used)

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required
• No acutely cardiac patients on the unit
• Night shift focus with some weekend work
