Job Opportunity: RN Critical Care (ICU) - Per Diem, Evening Shift

Location: Garden Grove, California
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Shift: 7 PM, up to 24 hours per week
Contract Length: 7 weeks

Job Description

• Provide nursing care in ICU with recent 2 years of experience and training required
• Will float to other units within scope (e.g., Emergency Department for holds, Telemetry, Medical-Surgical)

Required Qualifications

• Current and valid California RN license
• Current BLS certification upon hire and maintain current (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintain current (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred
• RN-BC (Registered Nurse-Board Certified) preferred within 2 years of hire
• PALS certification within 30 days of hire for units admitting pediatric patients
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certificate

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
• Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required

Certifications & Exams Required

• Prime Core Competencies Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Skills Checklist
• Prime Specialty Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam (minimum 80%)
• Prime Basic Rhythm Interpretation Screening (minimum 80%)
• DCI/BVP for Workplace Violence Prevention (can be completed via Relias or similar)

Health & Safety Requirements

• COVID-19 vaccination series plus booster or completed declination
• MMR: Proof of 2 vaccines or positive titer showing immunity
• Hepatitis B vaccination (declinations not accepted)
• Influenza vaccine or declination (required Nov 1 - Mar 31)
• TB test within 1 year of start date
• Varicella vaccination or titer showing immunity
• Tdap vaccination (declinations not accepted in some locations)
• Annual physical/health statement stating clearance to work (within 60 days of start)
• Annual respirator fit test (optional but recommended)
• Drug screening: Minimum 10-panel test including THC saliva test (within 60 days of start)

Professional Requirements

• National criminal background check within 1 year of start date
• Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9)
• Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport
• Sexual Harassment Prevention Training (valid for 2 years)
• Agency attestation document

Additional Notes

• Must be able to float to other units within scope
• BSN and RN-BC preferred but not mandatory
• Must maintain all certifications and health requirements throughout assignment
