Cardiac Sonographer (Echo) - Days

Location: Manistee, Michigan
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks

Job Description

• Perform various echocardiology exams, including stress echo exams.
• Work independently within the department.
• Collaborate directly with cardiologists.
• Shift: Days, 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 4 days per week (10-hour shifts), 40 hours/week.
• No weekends, holidays, or on-call required.
• Overtime available after 40 hours.
• Scrubs: Any color.
• Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.

Required Qualifications

• Echo Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Ultrasonography or Cardiac Sonography.
• Certifications:

  • CCI certification required.
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, must be active at start date.

Required Onboarding Credentials & Compliance

• RDMS and/or RVT certification.
• Proof of immunizations or titers:

  • MMR (vaccination or positive titer).
  • Varicella (vaccination or positive titer; history not accepted).
  • Influenza vaccine required seasonally (Nov 1 – Apr 30), with approved exemptions.
• TB test: Negative T-spot or QuantiFERON within 6 months, or 2-step skin test within 6 months. If positive, chest X-ray and medical evaluation required.
• Fit for Duty health statement completed within 1 year of start.
• Drug screen results within 90 days prior to start.
• Driver’s license or state ID.
• Social Security card.
• Core competency exams (OSHA & JC) at time of hire.
• Skill-specific competencies and self-assessment checklist.
• Criminal background check (7-year national, including aliases, sex offender, FACIS Level 3) within 90 days.
• Employment and education verifications (minimum 2 employers over 2 years).
• OIG, OFAC, and National Sex Offender searches within 90 days.
• Completed I-9 attestation.
• Emergency contact form.
• Signed healthcare system agreement within 24 hours of offer acceptance.
• Badge photo (shoulder/head with plain background).

Preferred Certifications

• Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS).

Additional Information

• No prior travel experience explicitly required.
• No guaranteed hours; overtime available after 40 hours.
• Must have good interpersonal skills for direct collaboration with cardiologists.

This position is ideal for a cardiac sonographer seeking a day-shift role with no weekend or holiday work, performing a variety of echo exams independently in a supportive environment.
