Job Opportunity: NICU Registered Respiratory Therapist

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Position: 3 x 12 hour night shifts
  • Unit: Very busy Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
  • Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) mandatory

Required Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license valid in Massachusetts (MA Conditional Licenses not accepted)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA preferred)
  • Prior travel experience: Not explicitly required
  • Specialty experience: Not specified, assume standard for NICU RRT roles (recommend minimum 1-2 years NICU or pediatric respiratory therapy experience)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • N95 Fit Test completed within 365 days prior to start date and updated annually (no religious exemptions)
  • Documentation of immunizations or immunity for:
    • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR)
    • Influenza vaccine (required during flu season, Sept 15 - April 30; no exemptions)
    • Tuberculosis (TB) screening within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test) and updated if >6 month break
    • Hepatitis B vaccination or immunity (strongly preferred)
    • Tdap vaccine within 10 years (preferred)
  • Physician health statement signed by MD/DO/NP/PA within 365 days of start date and updated if >6 month break
  • Respirator Medical Clearance (RMC) attestation required

Background and Credentialing Requirements

  • Criminal background checks including:
    • Massachusetts CORI check
    • National sex offender registry check
    • Exclusion list checks (OIG, GSA, Medicaid)
  • Social Security Number trace and education verification
  • Submission of 2 recent professional references (minimum 1 supervisor or above)
  • Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state
  • Skills checklist and candidate submission coversheet required for submission
  • Confirmation of assignment form required upon acceptance and for extensions

Additional Notes

  • A professional color photo (no selfies, no filters, plain background) taken within the last 6 months is required
  • No fit testing can be done onsite; must be completed prior to start
  • No religious or medical exemptions for vaccines or fit testing will be considered
  • Must comply with all onboarding and submission documentation requirements

This position is ideal for experienced NICU respiratory therapists seeking a long-term travel assignment in a high-acuity neonatal setting.
