Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist
Location: Florence, South Carolina
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Provide direct patient care and respiratory therapy services, including Hyperbaric Medicine for specially trained therapists.
- Perform all procedures according to established policies and organize workload to ensure timely therapy completion.
- Participate in respiratory care educational activities and departmental meetings.
- Document and maintain accurate patient records, charts, and reports promptly.
- Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response alerts in a timely manner with proper documentation.
- Use clinical judgment and assessment skills to provide appropriate patient care, monitoring, and communication with other caregivers.
- Evaluate patient care and make recommendations as needed.
- Special trained therapists will perform Pulmonary Functions, Methacholine Challenges, Hyperbaric Medicine, NICU care, PICU care, and Asthma Education.
- Maintain a professional image and excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers.
Required Credentials & Certifications
- BLS (AHA only)
- ACLS (AHA only)
- Valid state license/certification with primary source verification
- Proof of immunizations or titers (MMR, Hepatitis B, Varicella) – no declinations accepted
- Fit Test (required for travelers, completed within one year of start)
- Influenza vaccine (required September-April; exemptions considered case-by-case)
- 2 Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) testing
- Social Security Card
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID
- Negative drug screen (10 panel) completed within 30 days of start
- Criminal background check including county, statewide, national search, OIG, EPLS, OFAC, NSOP, SS Trace, and education verification covering the last 7 years
- Employment verification for 5 years
- Clinical skills checklist completed prior to start and updated annually
- Confirmation of assignment form
