Job Opportunity: RN PCU (Progressive Cardiac Care)

Location: Evansville, Indiana
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit & Patient Population

  • Progressive Cardiac Care Unit (PCU)
  • 28 beds
  • Patient population includes Medical, Cardiac, Pre/Post Cardiovascular Surgery, Arrhythmia, Heart Failure, and Stroke overflow
  • Patient ratio: 1 nurse to 4-5 patients

Required Specialty Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Progressive Cardiac Care or similar specialty

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • MMR: Documented proof of two vaccines or positive IGG titer (no declinations accepted)
  • Varicella: Documented proof of two vaccines, immunity, or history verified by healthcare provider (no declinations accepted)
  • Tdap: Valid within 10 years (no declinations accepted)
  • Influenza Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31); exemptions accepted with mask requirement
  • Hepatitis B: Documentation of vaccination series completion or signed declination
  • Fit Test: Required for all travelers; preferred prior to start, can be completed onsite
  • Positive PPD: Negative chest X-ray within 1 year and annual TB questionnaire required
  • 2 Step PPD or IGRA: Required within specified timeframes; annual TB questionnaire updates required
  • Health Statement: Statement of good health or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
  • Ascension 12 Panel Drug Screen: Within 30 days prior to start, updated annually; retesting required if break in service > 90 days

  • Two professional references
  • Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, Employment Verification, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
  • Employment verification for past 7 years (updated annually or if break in service > 90 days)
  • Education verification relevant to clinical work (within 90 days of start; rerun if break in service > 90 days)
  • Driver’s License or State ID (must be current and match address requirements)
