Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - PCU
Location: Jacksonville, Florida
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: Approximately 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift options include 36 to 48 hour contracts
- Every other weekend required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Florida
- Minimum of 1 year of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience within the last year
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Onboarding & Compliance Requirements
Professional Documentation
- Resume/Profile required for submission
- At least two professional references prior to first assignment
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others within 30 days of assignment start
- Employment verification for the past seven years
- Education verification relevant to clinical work within 90 days of start
Health & Safety
- Completed health statement or physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually
- Immunizations and health screenings required:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer; no declinations accepted)
- Varicella (two vaccines, immunity evidence, or history; no declinations accepted)
- Tdap (valid within 10 years; no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series completion or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine recommended during flu season (declinations accepted with mask requirement)
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA testing with annual TB questionnaire
- Fit test for respiratory protection, preferably completed prior to start
- 12 Panel Drug Screen within 30 days prior to start and annually thereafter
Competency & Training
- Completion of core competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics with minimum passing score
- EKG exam with passing score required every 3 years
- Skills checklist for specialty, updated annually
- Cerner test-out and training checklist with signed attestation
- Onboarding education attestation and contract worker onboarding completed onsite
- Badge photo (forward-facing headshot with white or blue background, no alterations)
Additional Notes
- Some optional checklists and evaluations may be requested post-assignment or during onboarding
- Driver’s license or state ID must be current and match address on file
