Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri

Job Description

• Implement components of patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist (PT)
• Obtain data related to treatments provided and collaborate with PT to modify care as necessary
• Assist PT in treating individuals of all ages, from newborns to end-of-life patients
• Help patients stretch and exercise specific muscle groups
• Follow instructions from the Physical Therapist
• Work directly with PT to assist patients
• Communicate with families to find the best at-home care techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of physical therapy areas
• Assist patients in moving from wheelchairs or walkers to therapy areas
• Complete administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and filing paperwork
• Teach patients techniques like balance training

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PTA experience (higher experience requirement takes precedence)
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings required
• Valid PTA license required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
