Location: Stockbridge, Georgia
Job Details

- Contract Length: 14 weeks
Required Experience
- Minimum 1 year of specialty experience (1 year required)
- 1st time travelers accepted
- Prior travel experience: Not required
Work Environment & Responsibilities
- Patient acuity: Stable med-surg patients with diagnoses including lap chole, SOB, sepsis, ex lap, GI bleed, CHF, COPD, SSC, hypertensive urgency, syncope, electrolyte imbalance, CP, abd pain, ETOH withdrawal, etc.
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6 (12 beds)
- Unit systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR
- Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed
- Call: None
- Weekends: Every other weekend
- Holidays: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day)
- Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
Required Certifications & Licenses
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Georgia
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) may be required depending on unit (check specialty/unit specifics)
- Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM) may be required if working in specific specialty areas (not typically required for med-surg)
Compliance & Screening
- Full compliance required to start on time; delays may result in assignment push back
- Clinical screening to determine fit before final approval
- Background check required within 30 days of start, including education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 30 days of start
- Annual health document requirements including TB questionnaire, immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B), and flu vaccination or declination
- Color blindness test and competency exams required (medication, dysrhythmia/EKG)
- Skills checklist and work history verification required
Additional Information
- Scrub color: Navy Blue or White
- Locals accepted at same rate
- Number of non-billable orientation hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8 weeks)
This position is ideal for RNs with at least 1 year of med-surg experience who are comfortable working with adult to geriatric patients in a stable med-surg setting and are flexible with floating and holiday shifts.
