Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Bethpage, New York
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7:00pm - 7:30am)
• Hours: 48 hours/week preferred; will accept 36 hours/week
• Weekend Requirement: Minimum 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Start Dates: 12/29 or 1/21 only
• Orientation: Date subject to change based on nursing education availability

Requirements

• Valid New York State Nursing License
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Minimum 1 year experience in specialty or comparable/higher acuity area
• 2 clinical references required (supervisor level or above, Charge RNs acceptable)
• Must provide interview availability in EST for the next two business days

Background and Compliance

• 7-year background check completed within 30 days of start, updated annually
• Includes SS Trace, County search, National Sex Offender, National Criminal, FACIS Level 3, OFAC, OMIG (NY Medicaid exclusions), OIG, SAM
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
• Education verification via diploma or transcript acceptable
• New York State Medicaid Exclusion List check updated annually

Certifications & Competencies

• ACLS and BLS required for all RN positions
• Other certifications (PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM, NIH Stroke Certification) may be required depending on unit
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam: minimum score 80%
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam: minimum score 80% (may be required)

Health & Safety Requirements

• Facility-specific physical exam form required, completed by a physician within 30 days of start
• Fit test for N95 mask (Halyard Fluidshield or 3M 1860) within 12 months of start, updated annually
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year of start
• Immunizations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (antibody and antigen results required)
  • Varicella
• Standard 9-panel drug screen required within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
• Seasonal flu vaccination required (Oct 1 - Apr 30), declinations allowed for religious or medical reasons
• COVID vaccine series preferred

• Locals considered within 75 miles (may affect pay)
• Must submit all required documentation timely to avoid delays or cancellation
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
