Registered Nurse (OR RN - Days)

Location: Nashua, New Hampshire
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Schedule: 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
  • Call required
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Must add time to end of contract to make up for any Return to Office (RTO)
  • Experience Required: 1 year OR experience (highest requirement)
  • Required Certifications:
    • BCLS (Basic Life Support) - Required
    • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - Preferred

Clinical Experience Requirements

  • Must have experience in the following case types:
    • Orthopedics (priority)
    • Neurology (priority)
    • Gynecology
    • General Surgery
    • Bariatrics
    • Podiatry (priority)
    • Urology
    • Some vascular, ENT, breast/plastics cases
  • Special Equipment Experience:
    • Cell Saver
    • Rapid Transfusion
    • ACT
    • Glucometer
    • Mako
    • Stealth
    • Holmium/Lumenis Laser
    • DaVinci Robot
  • EMR/Systems: EPIC, SBAR (transitioning to Omnicell)

Licensure & Background

  • Must hold a valid RN license for New Hampshire
  • Background check required within 30 days of start, including:
    • Social Security Verification
    • National Sex Offender Registry
    • National Criminal Search
    • FACIS Level 3
    • Education Verification
    • Criminal county/state searches (excluding NH counties; NH State Police search required instead)
    • BEAS (Bureau of Elderly and Adult Services) State Registry for NH placements
    • Motor Vehicle Background Check (if driving to patient homes)
  • Drug screen: 10-panel within 14 days prior to start (with a 7-day grace period)
  • Two current professional references within last 3 years required (one must be a supervisor or charge RN)

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider only
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA Provider preferred
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) - AHA Provider accepted
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) - Preferred certifying organizations accepted
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
  • NIH Stroke Certification (valid for 2 years)
  • Pass/Fail Testing (EKG/Medication) - Required for certain units
  • State License Verification and Copy
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (OSHA education)

Competency Exams

  • Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam (internal requirement)
  • Competency Exam (internal requirement)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam:
    • Must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing for Southern New Hampshire Hospitals units
    • Passing score 80% or higher required

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam within 1 year prior to start
  • Fit Mask Test (annual) for clinical candidates (N95 or equivalent masks)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within last 10 years (titers NOT accepted)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray (True 2-Step PPD, Qgold, or Tspot within 1 year)
  • TB Questionnaire required for all travelers
  • Immunity or vaccination documentation required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B (declinations accepted with waiver)
    • Varicella (history of disease NOT accepted)
  • Flu Seasonal Vaccination required during October 31 - April 1 period (medical/religious exemptions allowed with documentation)
  • Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen within 14 days prior to start

Additional Requirements

  • Respiratory Safety Clearance (RespSafety virtual questionnaire) required for all clinical travelers
  • Facility-specific documents such as photo for badge, compliance attestations, and insurance proof (if applicable)
  • Candidates who have ever been employed by any facility associated with this health system are not eligible to travel here

Prior Travel Experience

  • Not required; first-time travelers accepted
