Job Opportunity: Echo Tech (Radiology / Cardiology)
Location: Decatur, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Echo Tech (Adult and Pediatric Echos)
- Shift: Mix of 8- and 10-hour day shifts based on department needs (start times between 7:00-8:00 AM)
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- 8-hour shifts (5 days/week) or 10-hour shifts (4 days/week) depending on department needs
- On-Call: Yes
- Call 1-2 nights per week and every 3rd or 4th weekend (may vary with leaves/vacations)
- Holidays covered on a call rotation
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule Flexibility: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- Pending License: Not required for this role
Experience & Certification Requirements
- Years of Experience: Minimum 2 years in Echo Tech specialty
- Prior Travel Experience: Not accepted for first-timers (implies prior travel experience required)
- Certifications Required:
- ARDMS
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- RDCS
- Preferred Experience: Siemens equipment experience preferred

- State-specific searches including Illinois Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, and Violent Offender registries within 30 days of start
Licensing & Certifications
- Primary source verification of tech certifications and state licenses
- Competency exam required for all clinical candidates
Health & Safety Documents
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (must indicate good physical and mental health, free of communicable disease)
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- TB questionnaire updated annually
- Immunizations or documented immunity for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B
- Varicella
- 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually
Additional Facility-Specific Requirements
- Badge photo submission within one week of signing contract
- Review and sign Code of Conduct within 7 days of contract signing
- Parking permit form to be completed within 7 days of contract signing
Important Notes
- Must be physically present in Illinois 3 business days prior to start for fingerprinting (cannot be done out of state)
- Fingerprinting and Illinois Healthcare Worker Registry results required for clinical candidates without an IL state license
- Call-off policy allows client to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for those hours; on-call shifts count as called-off shifts if not worked
This position is ideal for experienced Echo Techs with at least 2 years of specialty experience and prior travel contract experience, who are comfortable with variable day shifts, on-call responsibilities, and working in a Level II Trauma acute care hospital setting.
