Job Opportunity: Medical Assistant (Travel/Contract)
Location: Seattle, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks (interpreted as 13 weeks)
Shift: Monday - Thursday, 4x10 hour days, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Monday shifts 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)
Work Sites: Multiple clinics within Seattle and Bothell area (rotating between locations during the week)
Position Summary
- Role: Medical Assistant (MA) in ENT specialty
- Open to both local and travel candidates
- MA-C preferred; MA-R accepted with prior clinical experience
- ENT experience is required
- First-time travelers accepted
- No weekend shifts required
- No on-call duties
- Floating between clinics within skillset required (locations vary by day)
- No block scheduling accommodation
- Locals within 50 miles accepted at same rate
- Reliable personal transportation required (public transportation not sufficient)
- Good computer skills and EMR (EPIC) experience required for scribing during visits
- Opportunity for extra hours on Fridays occasionally
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant
- Experience preferably in dermatology, adult outpatient, pediatric, or private clinic settings
- ENT experience is mandatory
- Prior travel experience not required
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification mandatory
- Other certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) not specified as required for this role
Schedule & Work Environment
- Monday through Thursday, 4 shifts of 10 hours each
- Clinic hours typically 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Appointment lengths vary (15 and 30 minutes)
- Some procedures require 1:1 provider to MA ratio
- Attire: Blue scrubs
Additional Requirements & Notes
- Must have reliable transportation (no public transit)
- Must be comfortable floating between multiple clinic locations within Seattle and Bothell area
- Facility may cancel traveler up to 1 shift per pay period (every 2 weeks)
- EPIC charting experience required
- No weekend or on-call requirements
- Candidate must be able to work without additional scheduling restrictions
Compliance & Documentation Highlights
- Physical exam within 1 year of start required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start required
- Immunizations and health documents required:
- TDAP (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- Background checks including state-specific searches required
- References: Minimum 2 supervisor references covering 6 months employment in relevant specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years required
- BLS certification must be current and from approved organizations (AHA or Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation)
Training & Modules
- Completion of Providence Health and Services WorkRamp modules as assigned (compliance and facility-specific training)
- Epic training modules required and must be completed prior to or shortly after start
- Other competency exams and certifications as applicable
