Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Salina, Kansas

• Procedures Involved:

  • Post-Procedure care (Recover conscious sedation)
  • Bronchoscopy
  • Circulate
  • Colonoscopy
  • Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD)

Required Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Background Checks:

  • 7-year criminal background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
  • Must cover all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
  • FACIS Level III screening within 30 days of start
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
• Education Verification: Proof of highest degree earned (transcripts or diplomas acceptable)
• State License Verification: Primary source verification required
• NURSYS Verification: Required for all RNs
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years required for travel nurses
• Performance Evaluations: Required if worked with the system over 1 year (collected by internal team)
• Skills Checklist: Required for applicable unit, updated annually

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical Exam: Physician statement within 30 days of start confirming ability to perform essential job functions
• N95 Fit Test: Required within 12 months of start; can be completed onsite during orientation if needed
• Immunizations & Titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Current within 10 years (required for Birth Center/NICU staff)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months (or documentation if previously positive)
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer within 10 years or completed 2-dose MMR vaccine series (boosters required if non-immune)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, completed vaccine series, or declination form
  • Varicella: Positive titer or completed 2-dose vaccine series
• Drug Testing: 10-panel drug screen including marijuana within 30 days of start (SAMHSA certified, MRO reviewed)
• Flu Vaccine: Required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31) or declination with mask requirement
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required or medical/religious exemption with declination form accepted

Orientation & Training

• Healthstream Modules: Required for all candidates; approximately 8 hours to complete; must be completed prior to start
• Photo for Badge: Required

This position is ideal for RNs with at least one year of experience who are comfortable with procedural nursing in a gastroenterology/endoscopy setting and meet the licensing and certification requirements. The role offers a 13-week travel contract with a consistent 4x10 day shift schedule.
