Job Details

• Start Date: ASAP
• Shift: 6 AM - 9 PM

  • Shift start times vary; if starting early, leave earlier; if starting late, leave at 9 PM.
  • Schedule is managed by department manager and may alternate between early and late start times.
• Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend at most
• Locals: Accepted at the same rate

Requirements & Qualifications

Identification & Background Checks

• Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during hours of service.
• 7-year criminal background check within one year of start, updated annually. Includes all locations lived/worked in past 7 years.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for every contract renewal.
• International background search if candidate has lived outside the US in the past 7 years.

Education & Licensure

• Official transcript required (diplomas not accepted).
• State license primary source verification required.
• NURSYS verification required (for RN, LPN/LVN, AP).

Certifications

• BLS (Basic Life Support): AHA or RQI accepted; instructor cards not accepted. Required for all candidates.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support): AHA or RQI accepted; instructor cards not accepted. Required for specific units (e.g., ICU, ED).
• Other certifications may be required or preferred depending on role (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM).

Competencies

• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable.
• General competency exam required.

Health & Safety Requirements

• Annual physical exam attestation confirming ability to meet physical demands.
• Fit testing for N95 masks required within 1 year of start.
• Immunizations/vaccinations required or proof of immunity for:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • TB (negative test or chest X-ray) within the past year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
  • Hepatitis B (series, positive titer, or declination with follow-up)
  • Varicella (2 vaccines or positive titer)
• Drug testing: 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; instant tests accepted.
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31).

Documentation & Forms

• Passport-style photo for badge (RNs must wear navy scrub top in photo).
• Completion of facility-specific demographic, vehicle information, confidentiality, new hire, culture commitment, and conflict of interest forms required prior to start.
• Signed job description acknowledgment required.
• Flu exemption forms (medical/religious) must be completed and approved if applicable.

Additional Requirements

• Minimum of 2 clinical references dated within one year of start.
• Completed employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist required.
• Performance and internal evaluations required if previously worked with the agency for over 1 or 2 years respectively.
