Job Opportunity: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapist - Pediatric Acute Care)

Location: Columbia, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position requires experience evaluating and treating patients in acute care pediatrics and pediatric intensive care at a minimum.

Required Experience

  • Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy)
  • Minimum years of experience: Not explicitly stated, but must have solid experience in acute pediatric care and PICU.

Certifications & Licenses

  • State License: Missouri state permanent license, temporary license, compact multi-state privilege, or limited permit issued by Missouri Board of Registration for the Healing Arts required.

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Not required for Pediatrics or PICU but may be preferred depending on patient population.
  • Other certifications may be required depending on specific unit or role.

Background & Screening Requirements

  • 7-year background check required within 60 days of start.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG Exclusion checks required within 60 days of start.
  • International background check required if candidate has traveled outside the USA in the last 7 years.
  • Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) or MO Caregiver search must be on file within 60 days of start; candidate cannot start with both pending.
  • Drug Testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen required within 60 days of start.

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start; must be initiated within 48 hours of signing.
  • Fit Mask Test: Valid fit test within 1 year of start required (exceptions apply).
  • Vaccinations/Immunizations:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years or approved exemption.
    • Negative TB test (QGold, TSpot, or 2-step PPD) within 1 year; annual updates required.
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 MMR vaccines required; boosters if titer low.
    • Hepatitis B series or positive/reactive titer required; declinations not accepted for new candidates after 7/1/2023.
    • Varicella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines required; boosters if titer low.
    • Seasonal Flu Vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (10/01 - 03/31).
  • Drug Testing: Negative 7-panel drug screen required within 60 days of start.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Proof of I9 or attestation required.
  • Photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID) required.
  • E-Verify proof or attestation required.
  • Education verification as applicable.
  • Resume must include at least 7 years of employment history with no gaps greater than 30 days.
  • Two professional references required within the last 2 years.
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement and HIPAA compliance required.

I worked in Same Day Surgery. The PACU and OR staff were great to work with. The supervisor/manager was very easy to approach and talk with.
