Job Opportunity: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)

Location: Saratoga Springs, New York
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years in Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics (RRT)
• Licenses & Certifications:

  • New York State License
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • EPIC system experience
• Work Schedule:

  • Every other weekend
  • One winter holiday and one summer holiday required (dependent on contract length)
• Local Rule: Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius and not reside in the following counties: Warren, Washington, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Albany, Columbia, Greene, Dutchess, Ulster. No locals accepted.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
• Background checks including:

  • 7-year SS trace and county searches
  • Nationwide and sex offender registry
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG annual checks
  • NYC Registry Search for Behavioral Health travelers
• Certifications must be current and from recognized organizations (AHA or American Red Cross preferred)
• Pass/Fail Testing:

  • EKG/ECG competency with minimum scores required (85% overall, 100% critical rhythms)
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• State license primary source verification
• NIH Stroke Certification (assigned if not on file)
• Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training (New York State requirement for RNs and LVNs/LPNs)
• Facility-specific documents including:

  • Passport-style photo for badge
  • FCRA Authorization Release
  • Lift assessment (typically 25lb, may vary by position)
  • ECG Study Guide review
  • TSH Medical History form (to be completed at physical)
  • N95 OSHA questionnaire and fit test
  • PPD Questionnaire

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start (onsite physical required prior to start)
• Fit Mask test (N95 3M 1870 quantitative fit test required)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year (2-step PPD required with specific timing)
• Immunizations or titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, declination, or vaccine series)
  • Varicella (2 boosters or positive titer)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 60 days of start (LabCorp required)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required by December 5th, 2024
• Eye exam including Ishihara color deficiency test

Additional Notes

• 2 professional references required for travel, allied, and per diem acute care roles (within 2 years of start)
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Candidates must be prepared to complete virtual orientation and clinical testing modules prior to start date
• Strict adherence to testing and competency exam retake policies (maximum 3 attempts for EKG/ECG)
