Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Specialty & Experience Requirements

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (CVOR)
  • Required Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty (vascular experience required)
  • Prior Travel Experience: Not explicitly required; 1st timers accepted
  • Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics

Key Job Details

  • Vascular Experience: HARD STOP - Vascular (Open and Endovascular) experience required
  • Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis
  • Patient Diagnoses: Coronary artery disease, Aortic aneurysm/dissection, Heart Valve disease, Afib, Lung cancer, Pericardial effusion
  • Scrub Color: Provided by facility
  • Return to Orientation (RTO): Maximum 7 days
  • Weekend Schedule: Every other weekend
  • Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed
  • Call Requirements: 10-12 days per month including 2 full weekends
  • Holiday Work: Expected to work major holidays during assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Years Eve/Day)

Certifications Required

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – Required for CVOR specialty
  • Other certifications (PALS, NRP, EFM, NIH Stroke, etc.) may be required depending on specialty and unit; verify with clinical leadership

Compliance & Screening

  • Full compliance required to start on time; delays in compliance may result in a 2-week pushback due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
  • Clinical pre-screen required to determine clinical fit before final manager approval

Required Documentation & Health Screenings

  • Photo ID (Driver’s License/State ID)
  • Background Check: Must be completed within 30 days prior to start, including education verification
  • Education Verification: Related degree verification required; can be pending at start with proof of processing
  • State License Verification: Must be licensed in Georgia
  • NURSYS Verification: Annual verification within 30 days prior to start
  • Physical Exam: Required within 12 months prior to start
  • Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Within 12 months prior to start; specific requirements if past positive TB test
  • TB Questionnaire: Required annually for all candidates
  • Immunizations:
    • Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Rubella – 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer required
    • Hepatitis B series or signed declination
    • Varicella – 2 vaccines or positive titer
    • Flu Seasonal Vaccination or Declination required (strongly encouraged during flu season)
  • Drug Testing: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; cannot start with results pending
  • References: 2 clinical references required
  • Skills Checklist: Updated within 12 months
  • Work History Verification: Verification of most recent employer required; can be pending at start with proof of processing

Competency Exams

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs)
  • Color Blind Testing (required for all candidates)
  • Competency Exam (required for Nursing and Allied)
  • Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for CVOR and related specialties)

Additional Notes

  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Number of Non-Billable Orientation (NBO) hours depends on contract length (e.g., 8 hours for 8-week assignment)
  • Candidate must review and sign facility-specific policies such as Code of Conduct and Dress/Professional Appearance Policy prior to start
