Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Respiratory Care Practitioner experience
• High School Diploma or College Diploma

Licensure & Certifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license required (state-specific)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA provider or instructor level (letter of completion not accepted)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA provider or instructor level (required for certain units; check unit-specific requirements)
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, EFM) – verify per unit
• Competency exams including unit-specific and medication/pharmacology competency required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable for RRT)

Background & Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific code 3701.881)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation confirmation required for Respiratory Therapy program
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending at start
• Confidential Fraud, Waste, and Abuse training certificate required prior to start and updated annually
• Dress code and hand hygiene policy acknowledgment required
• Ethics and compliance policies must be reviewed and signed annually

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year or chest x-ray if positive
• TB questionnaire required annually in lieu of TB test renewal
• Tdap vaccine (adult dose after age 11/12) required; exemptions not allowed for those working with infants or pregnant patients
• 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers for Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, and Rubella; boosters required if low titer and no proof of vaccines
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required unless medically exempted
• Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series or signed declination acceptable
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (new travelers cannot start with pending drug screen)
• Seasonal flu vaccine or declination required during flu season (10/1 - 3/31); mask required if declining
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leader (charge RN acceptable as second reference)

• Parking permits available for agency staff (costs apply; options vary by convenience and access)

This position is ideal for a Registered Respiratory Therapist seeking a travel contract with night shifts and weekend work in a multi-campus hospital setting in Ohio.
