Radiation Therapist Travel/Contract Job - Tucson, Arizona
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Day shift, 5 days per week, 8 hours per day (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM)
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
Required Qualifications
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Arizona
- Current ARRT Radiography (R) and ARRT Therapy (T) certifications
- Minimum of 1 year of Radiation Therapist experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or Red Cross only)
Certifications & Competencies
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (AHA or Red Cross)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification (AHA only)
- Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification (AWOHNN or NCC accepted)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification (one required; CPI must be from accredited organization)
- National Tech Certification Verification (required for most specialties)
- Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification (required for Pediatric ER)
- Pass/Fail Testing for EKG and Medication (80% passing score required; remediation and retesting policies apply)
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (required for RNs, 80% passing score)
- HIPAA Competency (annual, 80% passing score)
- Color Blind Testing (required only for OR and Cath Lab positions)
- Competency Exam specific to specialty (80% passing score)
Additional Requirements
- Employment application with complete and accurate information, including 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps over 30 days
- Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing if assigned to specific units (e.g., PCCU, MS/Telemetry, Observation, Ortho, Women’s, Pediatrics)
- Facility-specific job description review prior to start
- Compliance with facility tobacco, nicotine, and vaping policy
- Contract staff orientation sign-off (required for all except RNs)
- RN orientation sign-off (required for RNs)
General Skills
- Ability to perform chart checks
- Experience handling emergency cases
This position requires thorough compliance with all licensing, certification, health, and background documentation prior to or within 30 days of assignment start.
