Job Opportunity: X-Ray Tech (Travel/Contract)

Location: La Jolla, California
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night shift, 10:00 PM – 7:30 AM (5 days/week, 8 hours/day)

Job Summary

• Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
• Required to participate in standby rotation with core staff (minimum 3 days per month)
• Experience with Ports, Fluoroscopy, and C-arms required

Required Certifications & Licenses

• Current California X-Ray Tech license (primary source verification required within 30 days of start)
• CRT (Certified Radiologic Technologist)
• Fluoroscopy certification
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification preferred
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA or RQI certified (required for all clinical positions)
• CA Venipuncture Certification (required for CT Techs, MRI Techs, and Nuclear Med Techs)

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Radiology Technician license in California
• Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience, including experience within the last year
• Certified Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Demonstrated experience as an X-Ray Technician

Health & Safety Requirements

• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Proof of N95 fit test within 1 year prior to start (specific approved mask models required)
• Tdap vaccine (no declinations accepted)
• Negative TB test (PPD, Qgold, or Tspot) within 12 months; annual updates required for positive history
• Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: 2 vaccines or titer with boosters if negative/equivocal; no declinations accepted
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or signed declination
• 9-panel drug test within 1 year of start
• Seasonal flu vaccination or agency flu declination required year-round
• COVID-19 vaccination required or approved medical/religious exemption

Background & Documentation

• 7-year criminal background check including SSN trace, county, state, federal, and national criminal and sex offender searches (no international background required)
• HHS/OIG clearance required
• Two satisfactory professional references
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Proof of W4 on file
• Facility-specific documents including standards of conduct, confidentiality agreement, and job description must be completed prior to start
• Completion of facility learning modules (~8 hours) prior to start with transcript submission

Additional Facility Requirements

• No scrub color requirement; OR and L&D scrubs provided by facility
• Experience with EPIC or Cerner electronic health records preferred; minimum 6 months required for RNs (note: may impact auto-cancellation for other disciplines)
• Pyxis acknowledgment required for RNs and Respiratory Care Practitioners (not required for non-clinical roles)
• Must complete vaccine attestation form regardless of vaccination status

Notes

• Radiation badges supplied to RNs working in Interventional Radiology; not required for this X-Ray Tech role
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
