Job Description

Seeking experienced Registered Nurses for MS/Telemetry unit.

Required Experience

• Minimum 1 year of MS/Telemetry nursing experience
• ICU experience reflected in clinical references
• At least 1 leadership reference from assignments within the last year

Required Certifications

• Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Epic electronic health record experience required

• Telemetry and remote monitoring
• Use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• IV insulin protocols
• Feeding tube care and management
• Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Blood product administration
• Central line, peripheral line, and PICC line care/management
• Heparin protocols
• Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA)
• Care for cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients
• Management of surgical drains and chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac)
• High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC) use
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Oxygen administration and non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and proper use of PPE

Shift Details

• 12-hour shifts
• Typical shift: 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM
• Commitment to 4 shifts per month required

Orientation

• 1 day of orientation scheduled based on availability

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
• Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system
• Competency in management of dysrhythmias
• Proficiency with IV insulin protocols
• Experience with Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI)
• Central line care and management
• PICC line management
• Knowledge and application of Heparin protocols
• Patient-controlled analgesia (PCA) management
• Care for cerebrovascular accident (CVA) patients
• Management of chest tubes including Emerson/PleurEvac systems
• Use of High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and fingerprinting (PA FBI)
• Education verification (highest level of education)
• Drug testing (negative 9-panel within 1 year)
• Health documents including:

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start
  • Immunizations and titers for Hepatitis B, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • COVID-19 vaccination or approved exemption
  • Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search and PATCH (PA Access to Criminal History) results required
• Professional references and recent resume/application required
• Annual skills checklist and competency exams including dysrhythmia/EKG competency
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing for clinical competencies

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be able to commit to 4 shifts per month and prioritize compliance deadlines
• Strict dress code: navy blue scrubs, closed-toe shoes (no crocs)
• Agency badge and professional photo required for badge issuance
• New hire orientation and completion of required online learning modules mandatory
• Shifts access granted only after successful orientation and clearance
