Registered Nurse - MS/Tele Float

Location: Saint Joseph, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Shift Details

• 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (07:00 - 19:30)
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a reduced rate

Required Experience & Education

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience
• BSN preferred
• Must be able to start IV lines and draw labs

Required Licenses & Certifications

• RN State License or Compact State Licensure (pending license acceptable but must be in hand prior to start)
• BCLS (Basic Life Support)
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required for Emergency Department prior to start; ICU requires if assignment extends past 1 year
• NIH Stroke Certification required annually for Acute Hospital RN in specified units
• IV Certification required for LPNs (if applicable)

Required Competencies & Testing

• Basic Dysrhythmia exam (EKG) with a passing score of 84% or higher; 2 attempts allowed (1 attempt only for ICU)
• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement (annual)
• Pass/Fail testing for EKG/Medication as applicable

Background & Verification Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start including:

  • National Criminal Check
  • State and County Searches (10 years)
  • SSN Trace
  • National Sex Offender Check
  • FACIS Level 3
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Education verification with official transcript or diploma
• Primary source verification of certifications and licenses within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification required

Health & Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within last 12 months (not required annually)
• Fit mask testing completed onsite
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually; additional requirements if positive TB
• Immunizations or proof of immunity (2 doses or positive titer) or declination accepted for:

  • Measles (Rubeola)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
• Hepatitis B vaccination series, titer, or declination accepted with specific timing for vaccine doses
• Seasonal flu vaccination required during flu season or agency-approved medical/religious exemption (mask required if exempt)
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (not required annually) covering multiple substances

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references within 3 years of start
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Verification of most recent employer
• Missouri EDL Search required within 30 days of start

Facility & Orientation Notes

• Charting system: EPIC
• Free parking available
• Onsite AVADE training required for RN and LPN candidates in certain units if extending past initial contract

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, with telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Prior Travel Experience
