Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Location: Oxford, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
  • Required to be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure in North Carolina required
  • Experience with MEDITECH EMR preferred but not required

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA preferred
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, required prior to start and must be current throughout assignment

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in North Carolina
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS certification
  • PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID required during hours of service
  • Proof of E-Verify or attestation
  • Background check: 7-year criminal history check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, updated annually
  • Education verification (diploma acceptable if education cannot be verified)
  • Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within the last 12 months (instant acceptable)
  • Immunizations and health documents including:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 6 months prior to start
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - positive titer, vaccines, or declination
    • Hepatitis B - titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella - positive titer, vaccines, or declination
    • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season

Additional Requirements

  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and safety manual acknowledgement
  • Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as required
  • NURSYS verification for RN licensure
  • Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations
  • Skills checklist and performance evaluations if applicable

Notes

  • Candidates requesting religious or medical exemptions for flu vaccination must complete facility-specific forms with appropriate documentation.
  • All certifications must be current and maintained throughout the contract.
  • Prior travel experience is preferred but not strictly required.
