PACU RN Travel/Contract Job

Schedule

• Night shift
• 3x12 hours
• Rotating start time as needed
• Monday-Friday
• 24 hours of call per 6-week period
• Night shift nurses may need to pre-op patients from 05:30-07:30 when PACU is empty

Assignment Details

• 1:2 patient ratio
• Float within the service line as needed
• Guaranteed hours: 40 per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care (1 year of experience)
• PACU - Post Anesthesia Care experience within the last year
• At least 1 year of critical care experience
• ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience
• Experience at a Level I Trauma Center
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• EKG interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Epic

Work Environment

• Level I trauma PACU
• Short-term acute care hospital
• Teaching hospital
• Surgical recovery includes GU, GYN, colorectal, minimally invasive procedures, bariatric, and some ENT cases
• Separate IR pre/post area
• Nurses manage complex postoperative patients, including multiple drains, vasoactive drips, mechanical ventilation, and recovery from general anesthesia

• Block scheduling is not accommodated
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
• RTO limit: no more than 7 days
