Shift

• Night shift, 3x12 hours
• 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

Contract Length

• 20 weeks

Unit Overview

• Adult to geriatric patient population
• Overflow IMCU setting
• 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• 32 beds

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Georgia
• Telemetry (2 years of experience)
• Telemetry experience within the last year
• One completed travel assignment
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 years of experience managing continuous IV cardiac medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Milrinone, and Nitroglycerin

Clinical Skills / Experience Needed

• Arrhythmia management
• Cardioversion
• Cardiac CHF
• Chest pain
• Renal and pulmonary care, including COPD and pulmonary edema
• Pulmonary embolism and DVT
• Stable A-fib, SVT, and bradycardia
• Post-cardiac cath care, including TR bands
• DKA
• Surgical overflow care, including cholecystectomy, appendectomy, chest tubes, and biliary drains
• Occasional vascular, ortho, and CVA overflow patients
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge

Schedule Expectations

• Typically every other weekend
• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
• Call is rare; 2-hour response time
• Major holidays may be required depending on assignment dates
• Maximum of 7 days of requested time off per contract

Additional Notes

• Locals are accepted at the same rate
• Epic is preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required
