Job Opportunity: PCU Float Registered Nurse

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Start date within the next 3-5 weeks
• Primarily supports Medical-Surgical units with floating flexibility required
• Work schedule options:

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
  • 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)
• Guaranteed minimum 72 hours biweekly; scheduled for 84 hours biweekly

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• Minimum 2 years of PCU (Progressive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
• One completed travel nursing assignment
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Background check within 1 year, including SS trace, county searches (7 years), nationwide, and sex offender registry
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start (must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)
• Immunizations and health screenings (must be current or completed within 72 hours of contract signing):

  • TDAP vaccine within 10 years
  • Negative TB test (2-step PPD, Q Gold, or TSpot) within 1 year or chest X-ray within 5 years if positive PPD
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer required (exempt if born before 1957)
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination required
  • Varicella: 2 vaccines, positive titer, or history of chickenpox required
  • Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/1 - 5/31) or facility-specific medical/religious exemption
  • COVID vaccination documentation required
• Negative 9-panel drug screen within 1 year (instant acceptable) with plan for completion within facility timeframe
• Required facility-specific documents and acknowledgments prior to start (e.g., parking policy, confidentiality, code of conduct, orientation)
• Two professional references within 3 years
• Resume or employment application required
• Annual updates required for skills checklist and orientation safety manual acknowledgment

Additional Notes

• All Return to Office (RTO) documentation must be submitted at time of application or prior to offer acceptance
• Candidate must be agreeable to floating assignments primarily on Med Surg and PCU units

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with Med Surg and PCU float experience who are comfortable with flexible assignments and meet the outlined certification and compliance requirements.
