Job Opportunity: Radiology Registered Nurse

Location: Paramus, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Perform multiple duties within the Radiology department.
• Coverage required across multiple Radiology sites.
• Shift: Weekend rotation, Day shift (4x10 hours), 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Total hours per week: 40.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of 1 year of Radiology experience, with experience within the last year required
• ACLS certification
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• PALS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• ARRT certification

Required Competencies & Testing

• Pass a Telemetry Competency pass/fail test onsite (one attempt allowed). Failure results in contract cancellation.
• Medication/Pharmacology Competency Exam with a minimum score of 80%, updated annually.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam with an 80% pass rate, updated annually (not required for certain excluded units).
• Core Competency Exams (Parts I, II, III) covering National Patient Safety, HIPAA, OSHA, Infection Control, Ethics, and more; must be updated annually with an 80% passing score.
• Completion of a Relias "Foundations of ECG Interpretation" exam to prepare for onsite pass/fail testing (not required for certain excluded units).
• Acknowledgement of Pass/Fail Testing required.
• Unit-specific skills checklist required.

Health & Safety Requirements (Must be completed within 72 hours of contract signing)

• Physical exam or statement of health signed by MD, DO, PA, or NP confirming good health and ability to perform job duties.
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 30 days of start (no pending or rapid tests accepted).
• Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) required annually.
• Immunizations and/or proof of immunity:

  • COVID-19: Completed initial series and booster required, no exemptions accepted.
  • Flu vaccine: Mandatory during flu season, no religious or medical declinations accepted.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella): Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required.
  • Varicella: Proof of 2 vaccinations or positive titer required.
  • Hepatitis B: Surface antibody titer or declination required.
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Preferred but not required; declinations accepted.
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol.

Background & Verification Requirements

• 7-year background check including national sex offender, criminal, OIG sanction, EPLS/GSA/SAM, and OFAC sanctions searches.
• Education verification of highest degree (Bachelor’s degree required). Diploma may be used as placeholder if verification is pending.
• Employment verification covering the last 7 years, with no pending verifications allowed at start.
• Two professional references required:

  • One supervisory reference from within 12 months of start.
  • One professional reference from within 3 years of start (not necessarily supervisory).

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific self-learning modules and post-tests with a 100% passing score prior to start.
• Acknowledgement of orientation safety manual.
• ID badge information to be provided during orientation.
• Onsite medication exam required for all RNs.

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
• Unit-based training available for Cat Scan and MRI if prior experience is lacking.
• No temporary or emergency licenses accepted without prior approval.
