Job Opportunity: Pharmacist Inpatient (Travel/Contract)

Location: Chicago, Illinois
Shift: Night (4 shifts per week, 10 hours each; 9:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Contract Length: 8 weeks

Job Summary

Seeking a licensed Pharmacist for inpatient care on a travel/contract basis. Locals are welcome to apply at the same rate.

Required Qualifications

• License: Valid Pharmacist license (PharmD required)
• Certifications:

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only
• Experience: Minimum years of specialty experience not explicitly stated; PharmD degree required
• Background Checks:

  • Must have a background check within 30 days prior to start, covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including SSN trace, national criminal database, global terrorist search, sex offender registry, alias search, and FACIS Level 3.
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Drug Testing:

  • 9-panel drug test (excluding marijuana) within 90 days of start, including Nitrate and Creatinine levels. Rapid drug screens not accepted.
• Physical Exam: Within 1 year of start, confirming fitness to work without restrictions.
• Immunizations and Health Requirements:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine required (valid 10 years; declination allowed with prior vaccination record and signed declination form).
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol; TB questionnaire required annually.
  • Hepatitis B Surface Antibody titer required; declination form required if negative.
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccines or positive IgG titers required; low titers require additional vaccination.
  • Varicella vaccines or positive IgG titer required; low titers require additional vaccination.
  • Seasonal flu vaccination documentation required prior to November 1st of flu season; medical/religious exemptions considered with approved documentation.
• Illinois State Requirements:

  • Patient-facing candidates without an Illinois state license must be fingerprinted and added to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Health Care Worker Registry. Fingerprinting must be done in Illinois.
  • Completion of Illinois Mandatory Reporting Training for all clinical patient-facing/in-person positions, valid for 3 years.
• References: Two professional references within the last 3 years (for direct hires).
• Employment History: Must provide 7 years of employment history with explanations for gaps over 30 days.

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific contractor data forms and health documents prior to start.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement required.
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Compliance with all background, health, and credentialing documentation per facility standards.

Work Schedule

• 4 night shifts per week, each 10 hours long (total 40 hours/week).
• Shift hours: 9:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
