Job Opportunity: EP Lab Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Day, 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
- Electrophysiology Lab experience of at least 1 year, with experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC)
- National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Experience in circulating procedures
- Experience in procedural sedation administration and monitoring
Required Competencies and Exams
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam (must score ≥85%)
- Color Blind Testing (must score ≥80%, required for all candidates starting on/after 8/2/2024)
- Dysrhythmia/EKG Competency Exam (required for Telemetry, MS/Tele, ER/ED, all ICU, Progressive Care, Stepdown, PACU, IR/Cath/EP/Endo/GI, Labor and Delivery units)
Required Trainings and Certifications
- Language Services Training (required for RNs)
- CAUTI Education Training (required for RNs except PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training (required for RNs)
- Mobile Heartbeat Alarm Module (required for all RNs except ER/ED, Pediatrics, ICU, NICU)
- Stroke Education Module (required for RNs except Pediatric specialties and NICU)
- CLABSI Prevention for Adult and Pediatric Training (required for RNs)
- Preventing Pressure Injury Training (required for RNs)
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education (required for RNs)
- Pyxis ES MedStation Modules (required for RNs)
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training (required for RNs)
- Patient Bedside Rounding Module (required for RNs except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
- Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Awareness Module (required for RNs)
- AME Blood Administration Module (required for all RNs except Case Managers and Behavioral Health/Psych and Home Health; must be updated annually)
- New Employee Orientation Module (must be completed by start date)
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for RNs except Home Health)
- ED Handbook (required for ER/ED RNs)
- eCart Training Module (required for all RNs except Pediatric, Periop/OR, Outpatient, Case Managers, Home Health)
- Chaperone Policy Training (required for RNs; new module required if gap of 6+ months between assignments or module updated)
- Fire Safety Module (required for RNs and Allied Health as of 5/4/2026)
- EPIC Testing (optional but highly encouraged for ER RNs with EPIC experience)
Health and Background Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 12 months of start; must be updated annually (3M N95 preferred)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray documentation (T-Spot or QGold within 6 months, or 2 PPDs within 12 months)
- TB Questionnaire (must be updated annually)
- Immunizations or positive titers required for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, vaccine series, or declination within 1 year)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician documented history)
- Tdap vaccination highly preferred for Pediatric specialties, Labor and Delivery, Postpartum (declination accepted)
- 10 Panel Drug Screen within 12 months of start (rapid accepted)
- Seasonal Flu Vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season (9/1 - 3/31)
- COVID vaccination series preferred but not required
- Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, Sex Offender Search, Education Verification, and Foreign Equivalency Education Evaluation (if applicable)
- Employment application with 7-year work history and no gaps greater than 90 days
- Work history verification for last 7 years (attestations not accepted)
Additional Compliance and Documentation
- Driver’s license or state ID with photo matching legal name required on first day
- Attestation of prior radiation exposure required if applicable to certain units
- References per standard requirements
- Skills checklist within 12 months of start
- Various attestations related to trainings and modules must be signed and submitted (often via DocuSign)
Schedule and Work Environment
- 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
