Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse, Emergency Room (ER)
- Shift: Night shift, 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 - 6:30)
- Hours per Week: 48 hours (can sign for 36 or 48 hours per week)
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1, occasionally flexes to 5:1
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (Friday-Sunday block only; no weekday block schedules)
- Floating: No floating outside scope of practice
- Local Candidates: Not accepted within 75-mile radius
- Pending License: Accepted
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 7 days off per 13-week contract
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Missouri
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) experience, including experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Experience working with Level I Trauma patients
- Proficient in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide and nationwide checks)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable
- Licensure Verification:
- Primary source verification required (NURSYS for Missouri licenses)
- Temporary licenses accepted but permanent license required for extensions
- Competency Exams:
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (Relias Basic Dysrhythmia) required for new and extension candidates
- Unit-specific competency exams updated annually
- Health Requirements:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask test (N95) with annual renewal
- Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (with boosters or declinations as applicable)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Tdap vaccine or declination (with exceptions for certain units)
- Drug testing within 1 year, including specific panels
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Facility-Specific Documents:
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Regulatory Compliance Education, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, Orientation Modules (mandatory for RNs)
- Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
- Vehicle registration form if working day shifts

Summary
This is a night shift travel Registered Nurse position in the Emergency Room requiring a minimum of 3 years of nursing experience (or 2-3 years with trauma and travel experience), ACLS and BLS certifications, and strong skills in dysrhythmia interpretation. The role is based in a Level I Trauma Center with a high acuity patient population and requires compliance with extensive background checks, health screenings, and facility-specific policies. Prior travel experience is mandatory, and first-time travelers will not be considered. The contract length is approximately 13 weeks with guaranteed hours and weekend work every other weekend.
