Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Travel/Contract)
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
Shift: Day (4 shifts of 12 hours, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Details
- Medical-Surgical unit with 32 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:6
- Rapid response team activation
- No call required; floating only to similar units
- Weekend requirement: 6 weekend shifts within 6 weeks
- Epic electronic charting system
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Mexico
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Additional Information
- Unit accepts first-time travel nurses (no prior travel experience required)
- Overtime applies for hours worked over 48 per week
- Fingerprinting must be completed onsite during orientation; clearance required before working on unit
- Clear headshot photo required for badge
- Employment application and resume required
Summary
This is a 13-week travel contract for a Registered Nurse on a Medical-Surgical unit in Albuquerque, NM. The position offers day shifts with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and requires recent Med-Surg experience, BLS, NIHSS, and other applicable certifications. The unit supports first-time travelers and uses Epic for charting. Comprehensive health, background, and competency requirements must be met prior to start.
