Perform all nursing responsibilities specific to the cardiovascular medical-surgical unit.
Implement procedures and theories related to cardiovascular nursing practice.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of nursing care.
Complete initial patient assessments upon admission and develop appropriate plans of care based on patient and family needs.
Implement and modify plans of care through continuous evaluation.
Ensure patient and employee safety by identifying and addressing safety hazards and incidents.
Communicate effectively with team members to resolve issues and provide constructive feedback.
Support professional development of peers and pursue own learning needs proactively.
Provide direct care to CVMS patients, including post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients.
Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
Perform hourly rounding on patients.
Seek opportunities to assist internal and external customers.
Fulfill all departmental competency requirements.

Minimum 3 years of relevant nursing experience in cardiovascular or related specialty.
ASN degree required; BSN preferred.
Illinois state RN license in good standing.
BLS (American Heart Association) certification.
ACLS (American Heart Association) certification.
