Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Surgical Tech assists the healthcare team during the intra-operative period by preparing and handling surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting the surgeon throughout the procedure. This role requires knowledge of aseptic technique, medical terminology, and the ability to respond immediately in urgent or emergency situations. The position involves working with patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.
Responsibilities
- Maintain aseptic technique during surgical duties to ensure positive patient outcomes.
- Care for, prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation.
- Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts consistently according to policy.
- Adhere to professional standards of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician, including experience within the last year.
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
