Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: La Crosse, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 9-hour variable days (7:45 pm - 4:45 pm), 4 days a week
• Hours: 72 hours biweekly guaranteed
• On Call: 1-2 nights per week (5 pm - 7 am) and every 5th-6th weekend (Fri 5 pm - Mon 7 am) with a 30-minute response time
• Holidays: Rotation as needed due to on-call schedule (approximately 1 holiday)
• Team: 4-person teams including RNs and techs, working with 3 Interventional Cardiologists
• Primary Procedures:

  • Cardiac catheterizations (Caths)
  • High-risk PCI’s including Impella support
  • Structural heart cases such as TAVR, Mitraclips, and Watchman devices
• Charting System: Epic experience required
• Scrub Attire: Surgical blues provided by hospital

Required Qualifications

• License/Certifications:

  • RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) required
  • AHA BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • AHA ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
• Experience:

  • Minimum 2+ years as a Cath Lab Tech
  • Strong skills in structural heart cases (TAVR, Mitraclips, Watchman) are a must; these are a hard stop if not experienced
  • Comfortable being the primary tech on cases
• Education: Associate’s Degree

Additional Information

• Orientation includes 8 hours of unbillable time
• Guaranteed hours per week except during holidays when the unit may be closed
• Fast-paced environment requiring strong scrubbing skills with physicians in IR, Cath, and Structural Heart procedures
