Respiratory Therapy Travel Position

Location: Wausau, Wisconsin
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour night shift (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend and holiday rotation

Job Description

• Provide respiratory therapy support across all patient care areas including Emergency Department and general care units.
• May float to other nearby hospital locations with advance notice.
• Provide emergency services for Rapid Response and Code Blue situations.
• Responsibilities include basic respiratory care, critical care, ventilator management, and patient assessment using Assess and Treat Protocols.
• Care for patients of all age groups, including pediatric and NICU populations.
• Charting and documentation performed in EPIC system.
• Use of equipment such as V60 BIPAP, HAMILTON G5 and C1 ventilators, and iSTAT.

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Respiratory Therapist license required.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required; Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) accepted if RRT is obtained within one year.
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
• Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in respiratory therapy, including pediatric and NICU experience.
• Previous travel experience required.

Additional Information

• Dress code: Closed-toed shoes, scrubs of any color, clean appearance, no smoking or scents allowed, piercings per dress code policy.
• Flu and COVID vaccination required during flu season; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per facility policy.
• On-call and call-back may be required during low census hours; call-back pay applies with a minimum of 2 hours.
• Orientation week hours are not guaranteed.
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of unbillable low census hours.
