Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Home Health (Travel)

Location: Antigo, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Five 8-hour variable day shifts per week
• Hours: Guaranteed 37 hours per week with flexibility up to 40 hours
• Weekends: Every 4th weekend
• Holidays: Rotation schedule
• On Call: 1-2 times during the week and every other weekend

  • On-call duties primarily involve triaging calls with a 15-minute response time
  • Calls may be handled by phone or require patient visits (e.g., catheter troubleshooting, wound vac issues)

Patient Care & Travel Requirements

• Manage approximately 20-25 patients with an average of 4.5 visits per day
• Travel about 50 miles per day depending on territory and patient census
• Potential to float to other territories during low census periods

Unit Information

• OASIS admissions and all time points
• Episode management, physician calls, and coordination of care
• Timely documentation in EMR (Epic preferred)
• Clinical competencies required in wound care, IVs, ports, lab draws, and chronic disease management

Required Qualifications

• License: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of Home Health experience strongly preferred
• Certifications:

  • Advanced Heart Association Basic Life Support (AH ABLS)
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • OASIS certification is a plus
• Charting: Experience with Epic and OASIS strongly preferred
• Prior Travel Experience: Required

Additional Information

• Radius rule: Must live outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
• Contract includes eligibility for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours with potential call-back pay
• Orientation week hours are not guaranteed, but set hours are guaranteed otherwise except during holidays when the unit is closed
• During flu season, compliance with mandatory flu and COVID vaccination policies is required; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times
