Registered Nurse – Intermediate Care

Location: Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), rotating weekly or biweekly
Hours per Week: 36 (guaranteed)
Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend (Fri-Sun) and every other holiday

Unit and Patient Population

• 8-bed Medical-Surgical Intermediate Care Unit (Telemetry)
• Patient conditions include stable, sepsis, trauma alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke
• Primary patients may require insulin drips
• Patient ratio: 4:1
• Fast-paced environment requiring independent task management

Required Qualifications

• Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• EPIC charting experience required
• At least one completed travel contract preferred but not required

Additional Information

• Float to all inpatient units as needed, including potential float to nearby regional locations
• No on-call or call-back requirements, but travelers may be placed on call for low census hours (up to 36 unbillable hours); call-back pay applies with a 2-hour minimum
• Scrub color: any color accepted
• Flu and COVID vaccination required during flu season; unvaccinated travelers must wear masks at all times per policy
• Radius rule: must live within 50 miles of the facility (expires 7/10)
