Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology Lab Nurse

Location: Norfolk, Virginia
Employment Type: Long Term Contract (13 weeks)

Key Requirements

• Recent direct Pediatric experience required
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider/Professional Rescuer)
• Ability to administer moderate (conscious) sedation drugs
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to detect early changes in vital signs
• Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
• Must be able to travel between main hospital and off-site locations
• Cross-training required between sedation and infusion services
• Saturday rotations required

Job Details

• Shift: Four 9-hour day shifts per week
• On Call: No
• Parking: Available with pass
• Dress Code: Scrubs

Role Description

• Provide airway management and monitor sedated patients
• Support physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, radiology, and nursing staff
• Maintain a safe diagnostic radiology environment
• Deliver nursing care, treatments, and services related to sedation and infusion
• Perform a variety of patient care activities and administrative functions
• Participate in quality assurance and maintain regulatory compliance
• Assist in establishing and updating policies and procedures
