Job Opportunity: RN - Clinical Resource Unit (Float Pool)
Location: Normal, Illinois

Job Summary
- Provide specialized nursing care across multiple inpatient units including Medical-Oncology, Surgical-Orthopedic, Cardiovascular Care Unit, Progressive Care Unit, Mental Health Unit, and Acute Rehab.
- Care for patients with diagnoses such as coronary artery disease, myocardial infarction, strokes, cancer, post-surgical care, and more.
- Fast-paced, dynamic environment requiring adaptability and clinical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform nursing duties within the scope of the Clinical Resource Unit.
- Conduct initial patient assessments and develop, implement, and modify individualized care plans.
- Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, IV venipuncture, blood administration, pain management, and post-operative care.
- Float to various inpatient units and manage care for acute and chronically ill cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure quality outcomes.
- Document all nursing care accurately using EMR systems.
- Delegate tasks to healthcare team members and validate completion.
- Maintain patient safety through adherence to fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation precautions, and ambulation safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Participate in team huddles and provide constructive feedback to peers.
- Handle conflict management professionally and maintain a positive work environment.
- Complete bedside shift reports, hourly rounding, and maintain updated patient communication boards.
Required Qualifications
- Education: College diploma in nursing.
- Licensure: Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
- Experience:
- Ability to float and provide care across multiple units and diverse patient populations.
- Skilled in managing acute and chronic cardiac and pulmonary patients.
- Proficient in medication administration and evaluation of effects.
- Experienced in IV venipuncture, blood administration, and post-operative care.
- Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration within interdisciplinary teams.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
