Physical Therapist Opportunity

Location: Ruidoso, New Mexico
Specialty: Physical Therapist (including Pediatric Physical Therapist)
Employment Type: Clinical - Allied
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Evaluate and treat patients using a variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical and developmental disorders.
  • Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required.
  • Settings may include inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, community-based care, and home health care.
  • Pediatric Physical Therapist duties include evaluating and treating infants, children, and adolescents (birth to 18 years), with the ability to float to adult units as needed.

Essential Duties

  • Apply detailed knowledge of physical therapy, including data interpretation.
  • Use basic computer skills and understand relevant rules and regulations.
  • Oversee comprehensive rehabilitation programs addressing physical, psychosocial, and environmental well-being.
  • Promote patient and caregiver self-determination and optimize use of outside resources.
  • Coordinate and communicate with multidisciplinary teams involved in patient care.
  • Advocate for patients and support discharge planning.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of current experience as a Physical Therapist.
  • Must have inpatient and outpatient experience.
  • For Pediatric Physical Therapist roles, at least 1 year of pediatric PT experience is required.
  • Prior travel experience required: at least one previous 13-week travel assignment.
  • Must be a team player, flexible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Required: Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy.
  • Preferred: Doctorate in Physical Therapy.

Certifications & Licensure

  • Must have a New Mexico Physical Therapist License.
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross).

Note: Prior travel experience is explicitly required for this position.
