Registered Nurse - MedSurg

Location: Chapel Hill, North Carolina

Hours: 12 hours per day, 36 hours per week
Contract Length: 14 weeks

Job Summary

Provide competent clinical nursing care in a hospital setting, coordinating and delivering patient care using the nursing process. Responsible for patient assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver care to patients with complex medical and psychosocial needs, including bedside point of care testing.
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn; use appropriate patient education materials.
• Prioritize and organize care based on patient and family needs.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans.
• Participate in unit goals, performance improvement, and promote cost-effective care.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
• Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care.
• Recognize and address cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care.
• Engage in professional growth activities and education programs.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
• Minimum of 1 year of Medical-Surgical nursing experience, with experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of Nursing.

• Experience caring for medical-surgical patients is essential.
• Prior travel experience is not specified as required.
