Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry

Location: Pikeville, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights (no blocked schedule requests)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week (36 hours not accepted)
• Weekend/Holiday: Every other weekend required
• Float Requirements: Must float within Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry inpatient areas; may assist as an aide if needed
• On Call/Call Back: Not applicable
• Patient Ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum Specialty Experience: 2 years
• Additional Experience: Must have Level I or II Trauma experience
• Charting System: EPIC experience required
• Clinical Skills:

  • Tele strip interpretation is a must
  • Ability to initiate and titrate cardiac drips depending on patient acuity
  • Care for post catheterization patients (femoral and radial), chest pain, and myocardial infarction patients

Certifications & Testing

• KY/Compact RN License
• AHA BLS & AHA ACLS certifications
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• EKG test required during compliance process

Other Requirements

• Must be hardworking, resilient, adaptable to change, and socially engaging
• Scrub color: black
• COVID-19 vaccine required unless medical/religious exemption applies (weekly testing required if exempt, at traveler/agency expense)
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (no declination allowed)

• GSA hours are not guaranteed during orientation week
• Contract length interpreted as 13 weeks based on provided data

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac progressive care nurses comfortable with telemetry monitoring and critical care skills in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
