Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Location: Crown Point, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Details

• Specialty: Labor and Delivery
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Schedule: Assigned weekends and assigned holidays (every other weekend)
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours
• Call Requirements: No on-call duties
• Float Requirements: Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units

Unit Information

• Beds:

  • 11 Labor beds
  • 16 Postpartum beds
  • 2 Operating Rooms
  • 2 Recovery Bays
• Patient Ratios:

  • Labor: 1:1 to 1:3
  • Postpartum: 1:6 to 1:8
• Equipment: Fetal monitoring, Infant warmers, FSE (Fetal Scalp Electrode), IUPC (Intrauterine Pressure Catheter)
• Electronic Medical Record (EMR): EPIC

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Indiana
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 3 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
• Current certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses Electronic Fetal Monitoring (AWHONN EFM)
• Experience with Fetal Scalp Electrode (FSE) and Intrauterine Pressure Catheter (IUPC)
• Experience providing epidural care
