Required Qualifications

• Valid Pharmacist license in Texas
• Pharmacist (1 year of experience)
• Pharmacist experience within the last year
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Doctor of Pharmacy degree or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree

Experience

• 1 year of experience in the specialty
• Hospital experience preferred

Preferred Skills

• Epic experience
• Pharmacokinetic dosing
• Neonatal medication knowledge
• Emergency medicine

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense drug orders
• Interpret and verify drug orders in the patient medication record
• Compound and dispense non-sterile and sterile products, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products
• Manage controlled substances and maintain required records
• Monitor drug therapy for safety, interactions, allergies, and appropriate dosing
• Assist with pharmacokinetics consults and renal drug dosing
• Provide clinical consultation, drug information, and patient education
• Support quality improvement, medication use review, stewardship, and shortage management activities
• Supervise pharmacy support personnel and verify pharmacy technician activities
