Inpatient Therapist (Licensed) - Contract Position
Location: Bozeman, Montana
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Provide comprehensive clinical social work services within an acute adult inpatient behavioral health setting. Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to stabilize patients in mental health crisis and support their safe return to the community. Services include individual, group, and family therapy, discharge planning, case management, care coordination, psychoeducation, and crisis intervention.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Advanced Practice license in Montana
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Minimum 1 year of psychosomatic medicine experience within the last year
Essential Job Functions
- Support mental and physical health care of adult behavioral health patients
- Conduct screening, assessments, and brief interventions for patients and families
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy, including crisis intervention
- Document and maintain clinical records accurately
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary treatment plans and integrate social work plans
- Monitor treatment response and clinical symptoms
- Coordinate discharge and transitional planning with the care team and referral agencies
- Facilitate referrals to evidence-based therapies and social services (housing, vocational rehab, substance abuse treatment, etc.)
- Complete all required education and training on time
Schedule & Work Requirements
- Shift: Sunday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- May require working beyond standard hours, including weekends and after-hours
- On-call duties may be required
Physical & Environmental Requirements
- Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
- Prolonged sitting, standing, and walking
- Occasional climbing of stairs or ladders
- Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, reaching above shoulder level, pushing, and pulling
- Continuous fine finger movements and close visual acuity
- Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, infectious diseases, chemicals, medications, and emotionally challenging situations
Additional Information
- Must live at least 90 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Facility may cancel up to three shifts during the 13-week contract due to low census or unforeseen circumstances
- Regular and sustained attendance required

This position requires a fully licensed therapist with experience in behavioral health and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
